Windowed Mode!

ViperThu Feb 05, 2009 4:00 pm

While in game press ( ~ ) to open your console.

Then type "/r_fullscreen 0" 0 = windowed, 1 = fullscreen
Then type "/vid_restart" This will reset the video w/o restarting the game!

It might take 10 sec - 2 minutes for the video to reset. It will look like the game has closed but DO NOT Touch anything!

And thats how you get Windowed mode on CoD5.

Who do ya love?

Actually you can do the 2 commands at once.

Eg.

/r_fullscreen 0;vid_restart
/r_fullscreen 1;vid_restart

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to bind this but am not having much luck so far. Anyone have any ideas?

Check my other thread on adding it to your shortcut so it starts that way:

Windowed Mode

er...yeah I saw that one baument, I'm trying to figure out how to switch it in and out from in game. Appending that in the command line forces that mode, but it doesn't allow changing back and forth without a bunch of typing. I hate typing.

bind F11 "toggle r_fullscreen;>toggle_fullscreen_window"
after that bind F12 "vid_restart;>config_vid_restart"// video restart
only when other programs should not react any longer?
r_autopriority "1" //by fullscreen 0 is low cpu priority

If you have to (or want to) manually edit your config, you can find it in C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\*soldier name*\config_mp.cfg

Is using Steam version, you can also alter Fullscreen/windowed mode by enter that r_fullscreen command in your Launch options.

I have the game set for window mode, is there any way to increase the screen size to fit my wide monitor?

The way that I do it is through the appdat file. If you use your windows search function, type in %appdata% and hit enter. When the window opens, click on the appdata in the address bar and then on Local, activision, CoDWaw, players, profiles, your user name, and config_mp. This will be your game configuration file. From here you hit control-f for find, type in seta r_mode and you will find the screen resolution right after that in the file (mine is at 1280x720). Adjust the size to whatever works best for your system and save it before exiting.

Hope this helps.
