System specs for Modern Warfare

OrckMon Apr 06, 2020 6:07 pm

Can anyone glance over my system specs and give me any recommendations to some upgrades that would make Modern Warfare smoother? I have the lowest settings on and it still seems to be jerky and my game crashes a lot. I just copied and pasted the specs from Newegg when I bought my computer. All I've done was upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB of memory. I used to build computers all the time but I've just been away from doing that for a while. Thanks!

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB
Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8700K (3.70 GHz)
EVGA Z370 FTW Motherboard
EVGA RGB CPU Liquid cooler 240 mm
16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz 16 GB Optane Memory
1 TB HDD

You are running a faster system than mine` and mine is not jerky and running 140fps . Mine does crash in game and dumps me to windows unknown as to why and it is random as to then it happens. One item to check is go into Windows power settings (Windows 10)
and on the right side of the screen you will see "Additional power settings". Click on that and you will see an Option for Balanced and another for High Performance. Mine was set for balanced and when I changed to High performance the amount of dumps dropped dramatically. sometimes going for days with no issues.

I would strongly recommend a Solid State Drive (SSD) to run your system and game on.

You pretty much have a same system I have with the exception of the SSD and I upgraded to a 2070 back when BO4 came out. But that setup minus the SSD ran BO4 super smooth and don't even blink hard with MW. So yeah SSD first and then if you're still not happy; upgrade to a 1080 or above. SKIP the 2060 or 1066 I think it's called. Those are not much of an upgrade. 1080, 2070 or 2080. My 2070 has given me no issues since I bought it and it was a lot less then the other two when I bought it.

Just a heads up if you haven't heard.  Neat lil site to see how your pc will run games. https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

Yours is about like mine but I run a 1070ti. Look in the Forum for a post by Derby (since gas left) but it has a tutorial about tweaking your system and game for better frame rate. It ought to help overall though.
