Has anyone heard of a service or way to link 2 machines together so you can keep a backup gaming machine up to date with all your programs that matches your primary?

ye its called steam

No Steam doesn\'t update 2 machines at once in real time as real time changes are made. Besides I\'m talking about the entire machines themselves, not just games.
