The invasion of Europe by the Allied Expeditionary Force took place at Normandy, France.  Thus began road to VE day 11 months later (May 8th, 1945) and the end of the war in Europe.

Today I honor the memory of those that fought and died in this great crusade.

"All gave some; some gave all."
