Anyone know the file path for change name COD5 in W7? I've been looking but I keep taking a left turn instead of a right somewhere
I'd appreciate any help
C:\Users\B\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW, B being what i named that computer...hope it helps...
Voodoo you need to unlock Hidden files so you can get to the AppData file I can help with this on TS
I can get C:\Users but then I have either public or User file and neither of them has an AppData file. 1 problem is that I didn't do the format on this rig, it was done when I purchased the tower. On my other rig, which has w7 Premium I can find that path as i've had to follow it previously to save game data. This rig has W7 Ultimate as an OS but I wouldn't think that would case any file path issue. I R CONFUSED
Hey Sting, saw your post just after I sent this one. Gotta run and get groceries now but i'll hop on TS when I get back and if you're there i'll give ya a holler. Now I remember you saying something about a hidden file before. Danged MS, can't make it easy....
Thanks to Sting and Ted for help in getting thru the maze of files that W7 has.... appreciated guys
For anyone else who has troubles getting thru W7 to your profile here's the file path that I followed;
c:\ users \ user(or your pc name) \ AppData \ Local \ Activision \ CoD WaW \ Players \ Profiles
Make sure that you unlock the hidden files first. Go to your search window in start menu and type: show hidden files and folders , another window will open and then scroll down to: show hidden files and folders , check/click the radio button next to that and the rest is easy. You'll need to drag and drop the files : config_mp_cfg and mpdata into a desk top file and then follow the instructions in the link that Luke provided in his comment.
Hope this helps someone else
