Hello everyone! Long time no see huh, sorry im not active for a long long time but I got robbed so I lost my laptop =/
But that not the main subject, I'm going to NY in october and I would like to buy a dell XPS 17 but they do not ship on hotels so i'd like to know if anyone here who I know for a long time lives in NY so I could use a hand to ask them to ship to your house then I woul take it =D
Or if no one lives in NY if you could tell me store where I can buy gamin laptop but no too expensive ^^

Where in NY are you going? If you are going to the city but people live upstate that could quite a drive.

I know SixFour lives upstate aways from NY City.

Robbed = no laptop.... going to ny in october & you need someone who lives in ny so a laptop can be shipped to ny and you can come pick it up.... why not just get a laptop before going to ny

I suppose you're doing this cos it will be cheaper to buy in the US, and also benefit from it being tax-free?

Just so you know - NYC has some of the highest sales tax in the US (8 3/4%) and they are one of the few places that has a law requiring that all internet purchases be taxed. Just bear that in mind if you plan a purchase!

hmm... thx for the tips, the reason I want to buy it in NYC is because im going together with my english school, and I live in brazil and the xps 17 for example it doesnt this model in brazil the biggest in brazil is xps 15 and it costs like 1,450 dollars, in brazil +- 2,900 reais for a

xps 15: i5-2450M (2.5GHz;  6GB, DDR3, 1333MHz; 1TB, SATA (5400 RPM); NVIDIA® GeForce® GT540M 2GB < this for 1,450 dollars.

and in in the usa for 1,100 dollars i get a

xps 17  i5-2450M processor (2.50 GHz; 6GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 Memory; 750GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive; NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 3GB graphics with Optimus
so, for me its better get the second because im already going to nyc.
and when i get it there I can install some games, some pictures and personal stuff and by doing that i can tell that I already took it with me when I went to us so I dont pay those 60% of tax =/

Hey guys i'm back, so I dont know the addres which im going to stay, but the hotel is Carter hotel I guess which is close from Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and Times Square. I guess it is that, if is going to be bad to buy online could you tell me a store so I do need to buy online =D
