Try that upgrade for your gaming rig for free*

I just wanted to share my latest experience that I thought was interesting.

I had an ok gaming rig and wanted to upgrade my system to run crossfire.  I would need a new motherboard in order to do so, and also need to purchase another 6870.

I ordered both of these from amazon.  I had found that the ability to run bf3 on ultra settings vs high/medium @ the same fps didn't justify the $320 I had spent on the upgrade.

A couple weeks went by and I went ahead and purchased another SSD to throw into raid 0.  However chipset drivers for this motherboard had yet to become available through the manufacture and created alot of problems when attempting to put my SSD's into raid.

So since I was within the 30 days of purchasing motherboard & video card, I went through the very simple return process through amazon.  I simply said the motherboard didn't have drivers available for raid 0 and that I needed a reference design of the graphics card.  Even though the latter wasn't true, amazon gladly accepted both returns.

The result from all of this is that I got to try out some upgrades that I have been wanting for awhile without really spending any more than a few dollars in shipping.  So if you are contemplating which upgrade to do you could go about it like I did, although I don't think cpu's are returnable.

I'll be selling my 6950 2gb in a few weeks, if you're interested.

But no, no returns Smile
