Server cost are official for BF3 one 64 person server is $83.15 and $166.3 for two. This will mean about 300 a month for everything once BF3 comes out once we drop 2 Black Ops servers. Now if we add a boot camp for BF3 that will add $31.15 on top of everything.

Just for the two BF3 servers it will cost BK $1,995.60 a year. Add in website, TS, other game servers, boot camp server, podcast, newsletter, and more brings us to almost to well over 4 or 5 thousand a year in cost.

To help reduce the cost we plan to drop Server 4 Black Ops at the end of this month. Then after BF3 comes out we will drop a second server not sure which at this time. That should help us save some money but we are looking at over $100 a month in extra cost. We are also looking at adding more slots to our TS taking it from a 75 person TS to a 100 person TS. Some times on weekends we get over 60 people and with then new games we should see many old faces back on TS. This will add a small increase to our monthly bill.

With BF3 about a months away I would like to ask all BK members who are able to donate $5, $10, or more a month to sign up for the auto monthly donations. This will allow us to build up a 2 month reserve to cover the costs of BK when BF3 comes out in about 3 months.

I understand that many BK members are out of work or very tight on cash and I understand that you cannot donate. I just ask that the members who can skip a Starbucks coffee or McDonald’s meal each month to donate a $5 or more dollars a month.

FWIW, i dont like AOWC.  Ive used 3 server hosts in my time.  Gameservers.com(they are meh.  nice CP options but service is ATROCIOUS!), AOWC, which i just did not like.  I used them for a BFBC2 server. And Counter-strike.com.  That site is amazing, support tickets answered within 30 mins, also they have a coupon for 50% off your server its ENTIRE LIFE.

Im not sure if c-s.com is going to have BF3 servers, but if they do i absolutely recommend them.

I will look into them. We have had a few server providers and Game Servers has been the best to us so far. There are many that are more expensive then Game Servers and a few that are cheaper but you get what you pay for.

when do we get the servers? trial phase free?
why keep so many black ops servers? they will be dead when MW3 comes out anyhow.

Our servers are live now but you can't play the game till 3am est. For TS use the Welcome room for now we will address TS after the game is out.
