Applied for Membership, but I have no mic. Am i out of luck?

AbramWed Jun 01, 2011 7:29 pm

As the topic states, I applied to join BK, and the response email i received tells me to join TS and speak to a Gate Keeper. However, I have no microphone. Is one required to join? I think I may be able to get my hands on a cheap webcam, but thats the best i could do. This is the first time I've required, or even desired to have a microphone.

thanks.

Hello Abram...you could easily find yourself a cheap microphone from the local electronics store...or a cheap hedset to get you by for now.  What I did was use my rockband mic untill I got a proper headset.   A mic is reccomended.

Hi Abram - it is one of the rules that you should be on TS when playing on the servers. This helps promote teamwork and the community of the clan. It also helps avoid issues during play.
TS is required as part of the set-up as our Gatekeepers need to talk you through some of the regs and expected behaviours.
There is no rush to get a mic and you are welcome to continue playing on the servers.
Regards.

FYI - Newegg has a microphone for $3.49 and you could probably find one in a local store for a similarly low price.

..and 10 bucks to ship. No, i "borrowed" a friends' mic, but as you may have heard in the Welcome lobby, it sucks. And I'm a naturally quiet speaker, so i almost have to yell.

Though, I have a bluetooth headset for my tablet that I've been trying to set up, but I cannot get the mic to work. But i will rarely having to say, anywho, it I may just stick the borrowed crap-mic.

Try turning up the mic volume via the volume control in the bottom right hand corner of your desktop...right click on it and choose recording, and then set the mic volume higher.
