Battlefield 3 slated for release on November 2?

I think it would be a poor idea to come out November 2nd just a week or so before the next Call of Duty game. I would try to move the game to this summer or next spring. I worry they will be over shadowed that close to COD and end up like MOH.
What do you think?

I personally think they need to spend as much time as they need to release the best game possible off the shelf without patches!!! I hate all these games that are rushed out the door just to meet some dead-line, and the are basically unfinished and buggy. This is the game everyone has been waiting for, so it HAS to be awesome, and yes we would like to have it as soon as possible, but I will gladly wait for a longer time to have a better gaming experience.

I will buy it...
Tomorrow, next month or next year... dont care.
But i agree with Kula.
The game should even come out with 8 maps done instead of the habitual 4.... This could be a good way to make your costumers wait.
- Wait a bit longer and you'll have a candyyyyyyyyy...

I know someone who does work for EA, and he said they are aiming for a december release. I guess we'll see this fall.

Well I will buy it regardless of what COD puts out as I for one thought the original BF dwarfed anything COD has put out but I agree make it work right the first time.

I don't know Luke, to me it says that Dice is very confident with their product. On the flip side, it would be an epic failure to release game soley based on a competitive 'marketing date' and not have the game finished/polished. I doubt the latter will be the case, since BF3 has been in development for some time and is an evolution of an existing series. In the end, people (like me) are exicted about BF3 and will buy regardless of date, with the balance of sales coming from feedback and reviews.
