@MadDog you can use Gimp 2.2, Photoshop, even ordinary paint if you like...
Personally i use Gimp cause its free and easy to use, however i still use photoshop for more advanced Photo editing and graphics

Use photoshop, I never had much luck with gimp. Just make sure you download more brushes and fonts to make the sigs better. There are a thousands of them out there. I had PS for a while before I knew about them.

Ohh...just got my copy of CS5 Design Premium in last night. Finally got my company to pick it up for me. Installing at work now. 
I usually make my sigs and stuff from home...I have a feeling that will change. lol
