Origin of balls to the wall

Z242PilotThu Jul 22, 2010 10:50 pm

in an effort to influence the admin who banned my friend balls2dawall i just thought i would post a little information here about the origin of balls to the wall (or balls2dawall)

Balls to the wall: To push to the limit, go all out, full speed.
A very colorful phrase, one needs to be careful when using "balls to the wall". Although its real origin is very benign, most people assume it is a reference to testicles.
In fact it is from fighter planes. The "balls" are knobs atop the plane's throttle control. Pushing the throttle all the way forward, to the wall of the cockpit, is to apply full throttle.

And it is still an inappropriate name in our servers.

Explanation not required, but thank you for your insights.

Thank you for the origin but as we are an international team we have to consider all of our members and as the name is offensive to some of them, it was banned.
As far as the unban we would have considered unbanning them but as the outburst and general lack of respect this will not be happening.

Thank for taking the time to come and visit
