I might be out of commission for a few days while I try to gee tmy computer repaired...not sure what is wrong and neither does the brain trust at Dell....just for the record ...I REALLY HATE DELL  AND REGRET EVER BUYING A COMPUTER FROM THEM.....anyways see you all soon.

Yea, I can see if I can lend you assistance there Psycodad, I know you were on earlier and I dragged you up to another channel and then you disappeared. I can always give you always give you a call if TS isn't going to work or drive up there if need be. I could use a road trip.

vista 64.... after computer is on for 5 minutes it stops responding....it doesnt freeze it just becomes really really slow. hardrive seems to work constantly... after a while it goes into hibernate and you cant wake it up... It could be a virus but I have the paid version of AVG 9.0 and I have tried to scan for viruses but after 5 minutes my system stops responding. I have tried system restore but I am getting same resonse...I tried Last Known Good Configuration and still same problem.... Dells response.... FORMAT..... Thank you for calling Dell have you reformatted your computer today.  Any help would be great..........thank you

A friend of mine had the same problem with a brand new Dell. It was a bad hard drive. Test the hard drive or have it checked somewhere.

Have you ran a scandisk?  Since its is your system partition you will need to reboot and let it run on boot.  Make sure to check auto fix errors.  Also run any scanning software in safe mode.  What we use at work is Mcafee for antivirus and Lavasoft's Adaware, Spybot, and Malwarebytes for adaware/spyware/malware.  All are free except Mcafee.  We run all three adaware programs on any scans we need to do, if you do find any viruses/adaware/spyware/malware reboot into safe mode again and rescan.
